The prices of petrol and diesel in Mumbai are increasing day by day. The price of petrol reached ₹81.65 per litre and diesel is ₹68.84 per litre on Monday.

The prices of petrol have reached the highest in four years and diesel prices are still on the rise. According to a survey conducted by petroleum companies, the prices of petrol and diesel – in Mumbai – have been increased by 10-11 paise. Petroleum Ministry informed the government about the increasing price of the crude oil and demanded deduction for the same.

However, this demand was ignored as Finance Minister Arun Jaitley presented the union budget for this year. In the budget, the government cut the excise duty by ₹2 and yet it did not have any effect on the final price.

Earlier on March 1, 2018, the price of petrol was ₹79.45 and it has been increasing at the rate of ₹2.14 per month. On the other hand, diesel was ₹66.3 the previous month and the price increased by ₹2.47 per month.
