Bandra ranked 7th cleanest railway station in India

According to a survey conducted by the Railway Board, Bandra is the only railway station to make it to the top 10 list of ‘Swachh Rail, Swachh Bharat’ survey. Bandra railway station has bagged the seventh position in the list of cleanest railway stations among 407 in India.

In 2016, Bandra had secured the 60th spot and last year took a massive leap by making it to the 15th rank. Along with this, Rajasthan’s Jodhpur station was adjudged the cleanest.

  • CSMT- 13
  • Mumbai Central- 40
  • Dadar of Central Railway (CR)- 49
  • Thane- 57
  • Kalyan- 74

Among 16 zonal railways, Western Railway (WR) bagged the fifth spot while CR dropped five slots in 2017 to eighth. Out of 34, only eight CR stations and of 28, only four WR railway stations made it to the top 100.

Under the survey, cleanliness of 407 stations which fall in the A-1 category was reviewed and the assessment also took feedback from passengers into consideration.

Aarti Singh Parihar, senior divisional commercial manager of WR, said that he was happy to see Bandra station in top 10. He added that passengers witnessed an improvement over time.
