Plastic manufactures had filed a petition against the High Court in connection with the Maharashtra State government’s decision to ban plastic. The court on Wednesday asked the petitioners to take their objection against the plastic ban to the state government and if nothing works out, consult the court again. However, the next hearing is scheduled on April 12.

The state government has enforced the plastic ban to preserve the environment and avoid pollution. The petitioners say that the central government has the authority to ban plastic in the state and not the Maharashtra government. The ban is illegal and the government did not ask for suggestions and objections while implementing the same.

The petitioners wore black clothes as a sign of protest against the state government’s decision and came to the court. The protest was carried out by the plastic manufacturers who filed the petition in the court. As a massive crowd was gathered outside, it affected the functioning of the court.

The hearing was over after the petitioners were calm and the court warned that no one has the right to hinder the work of the court.
