Monsoon in the city is in full-swing for the second consecutive day. Both Mumbai and the suburbs are recording heavy rainfall. The representative of SoBo, Colaba recording the highest 24-hour rainfall for this season in the region. Intermittent rains this year are also proving to be a threat for the common man as the heavy downpour has claimed the lives of 30 people in Mumbai. Also, 13 incidents of wall collapses have been recorded so far.
Wall collapse and land cave-in cases were reported at five spots in Mumbai, five spots in the central suburbs and four spots in the western suburbs. No casualties have been reported in these incidents. On Sunday, a balcony of a building in Bhushan Bhawan collapsed in Kurla West. The Fire brigade, as well as the police, were immediately at it for rescue operations.

The highest rainfall (187 mm) was recorded in the BMC (Fort) area between Saturday midnight and Sunday at 3:00 pm. The weather station at Colaba recorded 167 mm (very heavy) rainfall between 8.30 am Sunday and 8.30 am Monday. Other suburbs like Sewri (158 mm), Kurla (137 mm), Ghatkopar (132 mm), Marol (161 mm) and Versova (131 mm) also received heavy to very- heavy rainfall in the last two days.
