In order to take action against adulterated milk which is mostly sold during festivals, Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) carried out a raid at Mumbai's five toll nakas — Vashi, Airoli, Dahisar, Mulund, and LBS — and inspected 9 lakh litre milk of which 19,250-litre milk was found to be adulterated.
Shailesh Adhav, Joint Commissioner Food informed Mumbai Live that the adulterated milk was disposed-off immediately.

On Wednesday, around 5:00 am, 35 food safety officers and 12 assistant commissioner carried out a raid and inspected 227 tankers and 9.22 lakh litre milk was seized. Of 9.22 lakh litre milk, 13 milk samples were collected out of which 5 samples proved harmless and this very milk, which had come from Pune and Nashik, was sent back for reprocessing. The milk was worth ₹1. 93 lakh.
Other eight samples were found adulterated with ammonia sulfate in it and the milk was disposed of in Vashi’s plant, Adhav informed.
