In regards to the Ghatkopar Plane Crash incident, opposition leader Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil wrote a letter to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis demanding that a case should be registered against UY Aviation’s Director Deepak Kothari for putting the lives of citizens in danger.

On the day of the accident, the weather conditions were not favourable for a ‘test flight’ as it was a risky business. Despite that, the orders for flight were given. In the letter, Patil said that it is important to find out the reason for the same. Before taking off, Maria Zuberi, the pilot who died in the incident, informed her husband that due to unfavourable weather condition, the flight was not possible.

Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) had claimed that the plane was eligible to take off for ‘test flight’. However, as the incident happened, it can be said that DGCA inspected the plane properly. Patil has demanded CM to write to central government regarding this and punish the culprits.
