The “Dharmaveer, Swarajya Rakshak Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj” musical road on the Mumbai Coastal Road was inaugurated on February 11, 2026 in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

Hungary’s Consul General Ferenc Jari, former MP Rahul Shewale, and Additional Municipal Commissioner (Eastern Suburbs) Dr. Avinash Dhakane, along with other dignitaries, were present at the ceremony.

The newly developed stretch on the Mumbai Coastal Road has become India’s first “Melody Road.” Specially designed musical rumble strips have been installed to create music when vehicles pass over them at a specific speed.

On the stretch from Nariman Point towards Worli, these musical strips will play the tune of “Jai Ho” from the film Slumdog Millionaire for motorists driving over them.

Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that similar musical road concepts may be introduced at other locations in the future.
