Monsoon Update: Local train and bus services running normal in Mumbai even after heavy rains

Heavy rains have started in Mumbai and surrounding areas since Wednesday night. Yellow alert has been issued in Mumbai and Orange alert in Thane and Palghar today by the Meteorological Department. However, local train services and BEST bus services resumed normally in Mumbai amid heavy rains. There is no news of any kind of problem on Central and Western Railway as well.

Yesterday, Mumbai local trains also faced glitches at several places, affecting movement of people. Central Railway's suburban train services between Badlapur and Ambernath in Thane district were halted at 11:05 am due to water-logging, affecting the movement of trains from Kalyan to Karjat.

Services on the Kalyan-Badlapur route were restored after seven hours, officials said. Due to point failure between Kalyan and Kasara, the railway authorities had to stop the services on this route at around 2:40 pm. He said that the services on the Kalyan-Kasara route resumed after about three hours.
