On Monday, January 24, night, seven students of a medical college that included BJP MLA Vijay Rahangdale's son, succumbed after their car fell from a bridge in Maharashtra's Wardha near Selsura, stated the police, reports mentioned.

According to accounts, all the seven were first-year students of the Sawangi Medical College and had gone for a late-night drive. It has been alleged that the driver lost control of the motor that caused it to fall almost 40 feet off a bridge, remarked local police officials.

Several reports have quoted the assistant inspector of Sawangi police station, Babasaheb Thorat who elaborated on how all the seven occupants of the car have died. He added that no other vehicle was involved in the mishap. He stated that they attained information from the control room after which they reached the location.

Thorat further elucidated on how the Xylo car was moving from Devli to Wardha. It was in an over-bridge when the driver is believed to have lost control which caused the car to hit the boundary wall. This resulted in the car falling over the bridge. The police officer also mentioned that since all occupants were thrown out of the car when it fell off the bridge, it is difficult to ascertain who was driving.

Presently, narratives claim that the police are undertaking a panchnama. Moreover, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter to condole the death of the students.

He is reported to have proclaimed INR 2 lakh each from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the kin of those who lost their lives in the mishap.
