The roofs of the metro trains on the 'Dahisar - Andheri West Metro 2A' line have rusted in just three and a half years, and the Maha Mumbai Metro Operations Board (MMMOCL) has finally taken up the task of repairing the roofs of the trains. Anti-corrosion measures are being taken on the roofs of vehicles.
MMMOCL is responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority's (MMRDA) Metro 2A and Dahisar-Gundavli Metro 7 lines. Currently, MMMOCL is operating 24 metro trains on Metro 2A and Metro 7 routes. It has not been three and a half years since these trains entered service, and the roofs of some of the trains have rusted. Right to Information activist Zoru Bathena had posted pictures of the cars on social media on Monday.
MMMOCL, responding to ‘X’ (Twitter), admitted that the roofs of the vehicles were rusted. MMMOCL claimed that the roofs had developed minor rust due to the weather in Mumbai. MMMOCL also clarified that repairs to the roofs of the vehicles have begun and anti-corrosion measures are being taken.
Similarly, a detailed study will be conducted to develop long-term measures to prevent rusting on car roofs or any other parts of the vehicles. After the study, the necessary preventive actions will be implemented through the appointed contractor, the MMMOCL has clarified. Also Read: Security guards of Maharashtra Security Force will soon be deployed at Cooper Hospital
