Against the backdrop of the coronavirus, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has appointed marshals across Mumbai and its suburbs since 2020 to ensure that COVID-related protocol is being followed by citizens.

BMC marshals take action against the citizens who are roaming without masks at public places. However, it has been observed that there are often disputes between the municipal marshal and the citizens.

A similar shameful act has come to light after the video started surfacing on the internet today, September 2.

In the video, it can be seen that a car driver dragged the BMC Marshall on the bonnet of the car for a long distance.

The incident took place when the BMC marshal was taking action against the car passengers who were not wearing masks. The concerned car driver was stopped by the BMC marshal. But the driver of the car was trying to move forward without stopping. So the marshal climbed halfway on the bonnet of the car. Even after that the car driver did not stop the car and took him along with the car. This was caught on CCTV. However, there is no information about the accused car driver or BMC marshal yet.

Moreover, netizens have expressed anger since the video started doing rounds on social media.

Earlier, in March, a similar incident took place a woman marshal, identified as Ashiwini Chawan, was on COVID-19 duties and was beaten by a woman passenger at Charkop Link Road.
