Central Railway will operate a special mega block between Kurla and Bhandup stations from May 15 to May 18 for the construction of a new foot overbridge at Vidyavihar railway station. Due to the block, several local train services on the Central line will be diverted, cancelled, short-terminated, or partially cancelled during late-night and early-morning hours.
The block will mainly affect up and down slow lines, while some fast lines will also remain impacted on specific nights. During this period, several local trains will skip stations such as Vidyavihar, Kanjurmarg, and Nahur after being diverted to fast corridors. A few Thane–CSMT and CSMT–Thane services have also been cancelled.
According to Central Railway officials, the special traffic and power block is necessary for launching girders for the new foot overbridge and improving passenger infrastructure and safety. Authorities have advised commuters to check revised schedules before travelling and expect delays or changes in train operations during the affected period
