Western Railway has announced a mega block for essential maintenance and engineering work at Dadar station. Due to this block, local commuters in Mumbai are likely to face major problems from Friday night to Saturday morning.
According to railway officials, this block will be taken up on the slow up and down lines from 12 midnight to 5 am on May 15-16, 2026. Necessary work will be done during this period for the maintenance of infrastructure and safety.
During the block, slow local trains will be diverted to the fast line between Mumbai Central and Mahim. Therefore, these trains will not stop at Mahalaxmi, Lower Parel, Prabhadevi and Matunga Road stations.
Many local services have been cancelled during this period. Some services from Churchgate to Byculla, Goregaon, Andheri and Borivali will remain cancelled on the night of 15 May. Some trains on Byculla, Borivali and Virar-Dahanu routes have also been cancelled in the early hours of May 16. Here's the list of local trains cancelled on both the days:

Apart from this, some local services will be stopped halfway or will be started from the same place, the railways have also clarified.
Western Railway has appealed to passengers to check the timetable before travelling and provide necessary cooperation. The railway administration has also expressed its regret for the inconvenience caused due to essential maintenance work.
