A shocking incident came to light after a 27-year-old man, identified as Rohit Pawar, was attacked with a sickle in Mankhurd, leaving the weapon lodged in his head.

According to police, the attack followed a dispute during which three minors assaulted him with a sharp weapon. The sickle pierced his skull and got stuck, leaving him critically injured.

Despite the severity of the injury, the victim managed to reach Lokmanya Tilak Municipal General Hospital on his own. Visuals of him standing with the weapon embedded in his head went viral on social media, sparking widespread shock.

Doctors at the civic-run hospital then performed a rare and critical emergency surgery to remove the weapon, which had penetrated nearly 1.5 inches into his skull. The curved weapon, locally known as a ‘koyta’, had gone deep into the skull, making the procedure extremely risky. However, surgeons successfully extracted it without causing further damage to the brain.

The patient is currently under observation, and his condition is being closely monitored.
