A ship drifted close to Manori Beach in Mumbai on Monday afternoon as heavy rain and strong winds battered the city's coastline, prompting authorities to launch a monitoring operation.

After receiving information about the drifting vessel, Gorai Police alerted the Indian Coast Guard, which has since been monitoring the situation. Officials are also using drone cameras to keep track of the ship's movement.

Rescue efforts are being hampered by wind speeds of 80–90 kmph, rough seas, and the rocky shoreline, making it unsafe for small boats to approach the vessel. Authorities believe the ship may have drifted towards the coast due to the stormy weather.

Mumbai remains under a red alert for extremely heavy rainfall, with officials urging residents to stay away from the coastline and avoid venturing into the sea until weather conditions improve.
