The Navi Mumbai Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) has launched a FASTag-based digital entry system to streamline vehicle movement and reduce traffic congestion inside the market yard.

The new system includes automated boom barriers and digital payment integration, allowing vehicles to enter without stopping for manual fee collection.

Officials said the initiative aims to improve traffic management, reduce waiting time for transport vehicles, and bring greater transparency to toll collection within the market premises. Vehicles equipped with FASTag will now be able to pass through designated entry points using automatic scanning technology.

The digitisation project has been introduced at key gates of the APMC market and is expected to significantly ease daily congestion caused by heavy truck movement. Authorities also stated that the system will help maintain better records of vehicle entries and improve operational efficiency across the market area.
