Maharashtra Clears INR 2.56 Lakh Crore Investment in 18 Mega Projects, Over 1 Lakh Jobs Expected

Under the leadership of Devendra Fadnavis, a Cabinet sub-committee on industries, energy, mining, and labour on Wednesday approved special incentives for 18 projects worth INR 2.56 lakh crore.

The government stated that these projects across Maharashtra are expected to generate over 1 lakh direct and indirect jobs.

The sub-committee, which includes Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Industries Minister Uday Samant, Chief Secretary Rajesh Agrawal and others, cleared incentives for mega and ultra-mega projects in high-tech sectors. 

According to project details, the largest investment will come from Essar Exploration and Production Limited, which will invest INR 56,852 crore in Raigad, creating around 25,000 jobs.

Rashmi Metallurgical Industries will invest INR 40,000 crore in Gadchiroli, generating 20,000 jobs.

Virtuoso Compressors will invest INR 800 crore in Nashik and other locations, creating 500 jobs.

In Amravati, Tembo Defence Products will invest INR 1,000 crore. Meanwhile, Nidec Global Appliances India plans to invest INR 1,000 crore in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, creating 1,000 jobs.

Jabil Circuit India will invest INR 1,500 crore in Shirur, Pune, generating 3,000 jobs.

In Gadchiroli, Hariom Pipe Industries will invest INR 3,135 crore to create 8,000 jobs.

Nibe Space will invest INR 4,000 crore in Ahilyanagar, generating 1,000 jobs.

Eurobus India will invest INR 4,200 crore in Talegaon, Pune, creating 12,000 jobs.

Additionally, Million Steel will invest INR 256.01 crore in Chandrapur, generating 360 jobs.
