68 Sub-inspectors demand transfer from Mumbai

Mumbai, the financial capital of the country, is known for its pace and is filled with people at every corner of the city. Thus, for the police to maintain law and order in the city becomes really crucial and tough. The stress level among police officers is highly increasing. 

Due to the long working hours and poor living conditions in Mumbai, 68 sub-inspectors have requested for a transfer in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli which is also a Maoists affected area. However, the police have cancelled all these applications.

According to a news report, 94 police stations in Mumbai currently have 2,850 police sub-inspectors and require minimum 1,200. 

A senior police official said that there are 500 vacant posts for SI in the cadre. Thus, Mumbai Police has dismissed the transfer requests filed by the sub-inspectors.
