On September 19, north-bound Versova creek bridge will remain shut for more than five hours for an inspection. Due to this, motorists using Mumbai-Ahmedabad National Highway will have to face traffic snarls. A National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) official said that the rehabilitated bridge will be shut down from 8 am to 2 pm to inspect its load-carrying capacity.

In May, the 43-year-old 48.5 two-lane bridge was rehabilitated after it developed a crack on one of its horizontal girders. Meanwhile, motorists will be able to use the two-lane south bridge for up and down vehicles.
