Indian cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul will have to wait for their return to the cricket field as the duo’s hearing has been extended for at least two weeks. As per a Times of India report, BCCI’s case will be up for hearing on February 5, indicating that the duo will have to wait for a few more days before the process to probe the case begins.
If Pandya and Rahul are banned for a certain period after the inquiry, it would directly put their participation in IPL in jeopardy along with their involvement in the World Cup 2019, which will be played from May to July in England.

Meanwhile, Vinod Rai, the chairman of the Committee of Administrators (CoA), has reportedly been considering to appoint an ad-hoc ombudsman. However, BCCI does not have an ombudsman and therefore, there has been a delay in reaching a decision over the duo.
Earlier, Rai had suggested a two-match ban for Pandya and Rahul while Diana Edulji, another member of COA, wanted a strict action against the two. Accordingly, Pandya and Rahul were called back from Australia and BCCI also suspended the two and banned them from playing cricket pending inquiry.
