Couple commits suicide under long-distance train at Vikhroli railway station

The couple ended her life by jumping in front of the train at Vikhroli station on Sunday, January 26. The families of the couple were not in favour of their relationship.

The Kurla GRP has registered a case of accidental death and started an investigation. Nitesh Dandapalli (20), a resident of Hanuman Nagar area of Bhandup, was in a relationship with a 15-year-old minor girl living in the same area for several months. But a few days ago, the girl's family came to know about this matter. She opposed the relationship between the two and opposed the girl's going out. Also, they were going to send her to her village within a few days.

As soon as the young man came to know about this, he went to the girl's house on Saturday. Then on Sunday morning, the girl left the house. But as her mobile phone was switched off till afternoon, the family had filed a complaint about her abduction in Bhandup police station. While the Bhandup police were searching for the girl, the boy and the girl committed suicide by jumping under the Garib Rath mail express at Vikhroli railway station around 2 pm on Sunday.

As soon as the Kurla GRP Police got the information about the incident, they went to the spot and took possession of both the bodies and sent them to Rajawadi Hospital for post-mortem. The investigation revealed that they took this step due to the opposition of the family and the Kurla GRP Police informed that further investigation is underway.
