A Mumbai civil court has granted interim relief to filmmaker Karan Johar in his defamation suit against YouTuber Ajey Nagar, popularly known as CarryMinati. The court has restrained CarryMinati from creating or sharing any objectionable, defamatory, or abusive content against Johar until further orders.

The dispute arose from a YouTube roast video that allegedly mocked Johar and parodied his talk show Koffee With Karan. Johar claimed that the video contained offensive remarks that damaged his reputation.

While CarryMinati’s side stated that the video had already been taken down, Johar argued that clips of it were still circulating on social media platforms. Taking note of this, the court directed the defendants, along with concerned platforms, to ensure that such content is not published or shared further.

The case will be heard again as the court considers the matter in detail.
