Accused husband arrested

Savitri was alone in the house when the murder took place. She was living separately from her husband. The police questioned her husband Rajiv. Initially, he said that he had nothing to do with the case. However, during thorough interrogation by the police, he confessed to the murder. The police have registered a case of murder against Rajiv Chandrabhan.

Refusal to live together

Savitri Devi Chandrabhan was living with her husband in the Raheja Vihar area of Powai. Her husband Rajiv had retired from a private airline two years ago.

They had been having family disputes for a long time. Due to this, they had been living separately for the past one year. Rajiv was living in Marol, while Savitri was living in Powai. Meanwhile, Rajiv decided to get back together and was trying to convince Savitri. He came to Savitri's house on Sunday afternoon to meet her. This time he again asked Savitri to live together. But Savitri refused. They had another argument over this issue. In anger, Rajiv covered her mouth with a pillow.  She died of suffocation. Rajiv was produced in court and has been sent to police custody. Powai police are investigating the matter further.
