Navi Mumbai: Three Minor Girls Drown in Jasai Lake in Uran

Three minor girls drowned while bathing in a lake in Jasai village of Uran taluka on Saturday afternoon, triggering grief across the region. The tragic incident occurred between 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. when the girls reportedly entered deep water without realising its depth.

The victims were identified as Hariyana Ramzan Parveen (8), Ravina Ramzan Parveen (7), who were sisters, and Soumya Kanhaiya Prajapati (13). All three had gone to the lake for a bath when they accidentally drifted into deeper waters and drowned. 

Hearing cries for help, local residents and relatives rushed to the spot and pulled the girls out of the water. They were immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared them dead. 

The three girls lived in Jasai village and were originally from Uttar Pradesh.

A case has been registered at the Uran Police Station. The bodies were sent to Indira Gandhi Rural Hospital for post-mortem examination, and further investigation is underway.
