On Tuesday, May 9, a Delhi court framed charges of murder, tampering with evidence against accused Aftab Poonawala in the Shraddha Warkar murder case. Poonawala was accused of murdering his live-in partner Shraddha Warkar.
Additional Sessions Judge Manisha Khurana Kakkar said prima facie a case was made out against the accused under sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing evidence of offence) of the IPC.
Poonawala, however, has denied the allegations and has demanded a trial. The matter has been scheduled for further proceedings on June 1. The Delhi Police had filed a 6,629-page charge sheet regarding the case on January 24.
