After a long wait, the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has announced the exam schedule for the 2026 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC – Class 12) and Secondary School Certificate (SSC – Class 10) examinations. State Board Secretary Pramod Gopane issued a notification on Monday with the details.
The HSC written exams will be held from February 10 to March 18, 2026, while practical, oral, and internal assessments will take place from January 23 to February 9, 2026.
For SSC students, the written exams are scheduled from February 20 to March 18, 2026, and practical and oral assessments will be conducted between February 2 and 18.
A detailed timetable for both exams will be released by the Board at a later date. The Board continues the practice, started last year, of holding early exams to ensure timely result announcements and avoid delays in the academic admission cycle.
In 2025, both exams were conducted in February for the first time, enabling early results and admissions. This year follows the same timeline. Typically, the exam dates are announced by August, but this year’s delay had caused concern among students and parents.
