Mumbai University had recieved a lot of flak when two instances of repetition in question papers had come to light. The first instance was when mechanical engineering students found out that their material technology paper is identical to their prelim papers. The other was reported by the students of Masters in Computer Applications (MCA) where their question paper was identical to last year's question paper.
Mumbai University took action against this by suspending the exam committee chairman for both these subjects and the faculty that had set these papers . In order to ensure that this mistake is not repeated by any teachers, Mumbai University is now going to conduct a workshop with teachers. The workshops are planned to train the teachers on how to set question papers and they will also be made aware of the consequences of their mistake.

A group of two or more senior teachers, along with the chairperson of the subject committee, have been given the responsibility to submit three different sets of question papers for a subject. On the day of the exam, a senior official will pick one of the three sets.
