Social media has changed the dynamics in the system today, where people are voicing their concerns and sharing their heart-wrenching stories, the moment a hashtag trends or when the world begins to start talking about it.
Recently #MeToo was the trend which created an uproar on social media and millions of people globally shared their stories about harassment and sexual abuse. Many television and Bollywood celebrities from the Indian entertainment fraternity shared their views. One more story, from the same family, has come forward today, which is bound to give you chills.
Munmun Dutta, the lady who portrays the character of Babita in SAB TV’s Taarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashma, shared her story by saying that she too was sexually abused as a child. Munmun took to Instagram to share her views about the same, by telling the world about the abuse. As per mentioned in the reports, Munmum was scared and affected with many men who she respected.
…Writing something like this brings me to tears reliving those memories as a little girl when I was scared of the neighborhood uncle and his prying eyes who at any given opportunity would grope me and threaten me not to speak about this to anyone. OR my much older cousins who would eye me differently than their own daughters. OR the man who saw me at the hospital when I was born and 13 years later he thought it's appropriate for him to touch my body because I was a growing teenager and my body had changed my tuition teacher who had his hands in my underpants OR this another teacher, whom I tied Rakhi to, would scold the female students in the class by pulling their bra straps and slapping on their breasts OR that man in the train station who gropes U.Why ??

Such stories definitely make you question the society we live in. In an era, where we are now able to voice an opinion and stand up for our rights, all we can hope and strive is to bring a change for a better tomorrow. Let anything like this or even mildly close to this never happen to anyone ever!
