Training field being worked on for U-17 World Cup

When a World Cup is coming to your city, you don’t leave any stone unturned. In this case, you don’t leave any ‘seed’ unturned. The Yashwantrao Chavan Ground in Nerul is stepping things up for the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

Bermuda grass seeds from Australia and sand from a lake in Mahad (Maharashtra) is being brought in to develop the field which will be used by the teams to train and practice before the games.The setup is being worked on for the U-17 World Cup which starts on October 6.

There are standards which need to be maintained and the correct soil-sand ratio is important. Preparation for the first FIFA event in the country is underway.
