200 MBBS Students And Their Parents Protest At Cooper Hospital

Over 200 First Year MBBS students along with their parents are protesting at Cooper Hospital as the students were forced to live in ENT wards and Nurse's quarters. The students have further boycotted attending their lectures.

According to the Medical Commission of India (MCI), only 2 students should be accommodated in a room with 1  bed, table and chair but since the last 2 months, the students are forced to stay in ENT wards and Nurse's quarters as there is a lack of accommodation facility in the hospital. Recently, the government had ruled out that the number of medical seats in the colleges should be increased but no arrangement with regards to their accommodation was made. 

Moreover, a video went viral which showed the miserable condition of their accommodation. According to the students, due to the crowd and ques for the bathroom, several students reach late for their lectures and there are many more discomforts that they have to go through.
