Mission Zero: 'Mission Zero' campaign to curb cases of COVID-19

With the outbreak of the coronavirus in Mumbai, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has launched the 'Mission Zero' campaign in order to curb the rising instances of coronavirus cases. Under this campaign, 'Doctor at your doorstep' initiative will be implemented through mobile clinic vans to search for symptomatic patients in Worli, Anthop Hill, Dongri, Wadala, Charni Road, Girgaon, Fort, Colaba, Dadar.

The initiative was inaugurated by Mayor Kishori Pednekar on Thursday. Pednekar launched his initiative with a view to reducing the number of coronavirus cases to zero. The BMC, the Indian Jain Association, CREDAI-MCHI and Desh Apanaye are jointly implementing the 'Mission Zero' campaign.

The BMC Commissioner Iqbal Chahal had earlier given instructions in this regard to the concerned officials in a meeting held on Tuesday. This initiative plans to trace, test, and provide medical treatment to citizens in order to contain the spread of COVID-19

In some parts of Mumbai, the duration of the doubling rate is less than the average, and the municipality has decided to implement a quick action program in these departments. This initiative has been undertaken to achieve zero cases of coronavirus. Under this campaign, 'Doctor at Your Doorstep' the initiative is being implemented in South Mumbai through 7 mobile clinic vans.

The inauguration of this initiative by Mayor Kishori Pednekar happened at Hari Bagh, Magan Bagh Compound, near Jain Temple, Sitaram Jadhav Marg, Lower Parel (West). In this occasion, Shiv Sena corporator Ashish Chemburkar, former president of Credai — MCHI Dharmesh Jain, South Mumbai president of Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana (BJS) Adv. Hasmukh Bhai Shah, Kuwar Chheda, Jitendra Khirani etc. were also present.

Under the 'Doctor at Your Doorstep' initiative, 7 mobile clinic vans will run in Worli, Antop Hill, Dongri, Wadala, Charni Road, Girgaon, Fort, Colaba, Dadar in south Mumbai. The medical practitioners in the clinic van will examine the suspected patients by visiting the area where the COVID-19 patients are mostly found.
