The blood bank at Bhabha Hospital in Bandra has been kept closed at night for many years. Therefore, if a pregnant woman, a newborn child comes in an emergency condition at night and needs blood, their relatives have to rush to Cooper or other private blood banks for blood. This may take a long time. Bhabha Hospital has entered into an agreement with Criti Care Hospital Blood Bank in Juhu to provide immediate blood to the patients. But many times no vehicle is available

to go from Bandra to Juhu at night. Due to this, the relatives of the patients face problems.

It is believed that the reason for keeping the blood bank of Bhabha Hospital closed at night is that there are not enough technicians. There are currently four vacancies in the Blood Bank. Due to this, other technicians have to bear the workload. As a result, the employees are repeatedly demanding that these posts be filled immediately. But it is being ignored.

Technicians were recruited in 2008 at Cooper Hospital Blood Bank. However, this blood bank was privatised in 2022. Therefore, if the technicians here are transferred to Bhabha Hospital, then there will be no shortage, believe the other technicians.
