Mumbai, which currently has its hands full with coronavirus, is now also battling other diseases. Illnesses such as fever, cold, cough, malaria, dengue and leptospirosis are sticking their neck out. According to certain reports, in July, as many as 12 patients in six wards in Mumbai were accounted for swine flu. Thus, the Municipal Health Department has urged the citizens to remain alert.

Additionally, due to the sudden heavy rains in the city for the past few days, there has been a surge in the number of epidemics. Swine flu patients were reported in Malabar Hill, Tardeo, Grant Road, Worli (G South), Andheri-East (K / East), Andheri-West (K / West), Goregaon (P-South) and Mulund (T Ward) wards of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation, informed the Health Department of the Municipality.

As compared to last year, where only one case was reported in July 2020, the number has increased this year to 12 cases in 11 days.

The authorities have thus, requested the locals to take care of their health by immediately consulting a doctor in case of fever and drinking boiled water. With monsoon now acting heavily in the city, coupled with COVID-19 and other diseases that may surge, citizens must prioritize their health.
