91 families residing in Colaba Transit camps to get houses

Shiv Sena leader and Yuva Sena chief Aditya Thackeray laid the foundation stone of the housing project for the families living in Colaba transit camps. The new houses will be constructed in front of the Cuff Parade police station.

In the first phase of the project, six buildings will be demolished. 40 years ago, the inhabitants living in the shabby buildings were shifted to the transit camps.

However, the conditions of the transit camps remained bad across the years. People living in the camps were endangering their lives. Therefore, the administration has initiated a new housing project.
