BMC Commissioner orders prompt geological survey of the Coastal Road project

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)’s pet project, Coastal Road is now expected to receive a boost as BMC Commissioner Ajoy Mehta has ordered a geological survey of the project prior to the construction of tunnels, bridges, and jetty. Alongside, Mehta has also asked the officials to present the final design of the tunnels, bridges, and jetty as soon as possible.

The preliminary work for the Coastal Road project has begun in a full-fledged manner and the municipal corporation is working hard to bring the proposed 9.98 km long route connecting Shyamdas Gandhi Road Flyover and Bandra-Worli Sea Link, to life. Accordingly, Mehta had visited the site for a routine checkup of the construction work on November 27, Tuesday.

The Commissioner took an inspection visit for the checkup of construction of the proposed jetty at Worli, Haji Ali and Amarsons Garden. Therefore, Mehta has now ordered the prompt geological survey of the site and a quick preparation of the final design of the site.
