MHADA lottery winners to get another chance to complete verification process

A few days ago, the lottery for the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority’s (MHADA) Konkan Board was drawn. The applicants whose name popped up as the winners of the lottery are supposed to submit necessary documents and complete the verification process. However, MHADA has decided to give the winners another chance to submit the documents and verify accordingly.

So, if any lottery winner hasn’t submitted documents yet, they can still complete the process by September 10 by submitting the essential documents at MHADA Building.

On August 25, 2018, MHADA’s Konkan board released a lottery for over 9,000 houses at MHADA headquarters at Bandra. As more than 1700 houses did not receive applications, MHADA’s Konkan Board released the lottery for tentative 7300 houses for which 55,324 applicants had shown interest.

Though not many applied for the lottery, MHADA created history by giving out offer letters to the winners. Usually, it takes 1-4 years but Konkan Board handed over the offer letter in just 48 hours.

Till now, 1306 winners have been given the offer letters and alongside, the verification of 2,300 winners’ documents is pending. Earlier, a verification camp had been held for the winners from Code No. 270, 271, 272, and 275 the day after the lottery was announced and the process was expected to be completed by then. However, as they failed to complete the procedure, they have been given an extension till September 10.
