23 Mumbai Congress members suspended after Milind Deora quits Congress

Mumbai Congress has adopted an aggressive stance after Congress leader and former MP Milind Deora left the party. Mumbai Congress President Varsha Gaikwad on Sunday evening ordered the suspension of Congress officials who joined the Shinde group, including Deora.

Conversation with workers

On Monday, from 11 am to 5 pm, Varsha Gaikwad personally interacted with the workers and office-bearers of South Mumbai and got to know their sentiments. Interestingly, despite the departure of the Deora leader, more than 300 workers and officials reached the Congress office and said that South Mumbai is still with the Congress.

Milind Deora was joined by South Mumbai district president Pramod Mandrekar, former corporators Sushiben Shah, Sunil Narsale, Rambachan Murari, Hansa Maru, former corporator Anita Yadav, South Mumbai Congress working president Ramesh Yadav, Mumbai Congress general secretary Prakash Raut and advisors. 23 officials including Trimbak Tiwari joined Shinde faction. Mumbai Congress President Varsha Gaikwad has suspended these 23 people for anti-party activities on Sunday night.

Crowd at Mumbai Pradesh Congress office

The crowd of workers gathered at the Mumbai Pradesh Congress office on Monday proved that the opposition was wrong in believing that the Congress would be shaken by the defection of a leader from South Mumbai. More than 350 people gathered for a meeting of workers and office-bearers in South Mumbai on Monday morning.
