The voting process for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections was concluded on April 11. The voters voted in 91 LS constituencies across the country while in Maharashtra, the polling was in seven constituencies.
In Maharashtra, the voter turnout was 55.78 per cent in the first phase of voting in the Vidarbha region. The voting process started at 7:00 in the morning and went on till 5:00 in the evening. Almost 116 candidates contested from the seven LS seats.
Almost 1.33 crore voters cast their votes in these seven LS constituencies in Maharashtra. The state main election office informed that Naxal-prone Gadchiroli-Chimur witnessed a voter turnout of 61.33 per cent while the same was 60.5 per cent in Bhandara-Gondia.

In Chandrapur, the voter turnout was 55.97 per cent followed by 55.36 per cent in Wardha, 53.97 per cent in Yavatmal-Washim. In Nagpur where Union Minister Nitin Gadkari is contesting LS polls, the voter turnout was 53.13 per cent and Ramtek constituency witnessed 51.72 per cent turnout.
