Maharashtra Assembly Election: BJP appoints Bhupendra Yadav as election in-charge

Ahead of the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections scheduled later this year, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday appointed noted leaders as election in-charge for state polls.

BJP appointed party's national general secretary Bhupendra Yadav as election in-charge for Maharashtra. Moreover, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya along with Senior BJP leader Laxman Savadi have been appointed as co-incharge for Maharashtra. 

BJP is preparing for the upcoming elections in four states including Maharashtra, Delhi, Haryana and Jharkhand. BJP MP Om Prakash Mathur has been appointed as election in-charge for Jharkhand followed by Union Ministers Prakash Javadekar and Narendra Singh Tomar for Delhi and Haryana, respectively.

During the 2014 assembly elections in Maharashtra, BJP performed well and allied with Shiv Sena post-polls to form a government in the state. Earlier, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had clarified that Shiv Sena and BJP will contest the 2019 assembly polls together.
