Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray said that he opposes the slogan “Congress Mukt Bharat” given by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Thackeray made these remarks despite his party being in alliance with BJP in Maharashtra.

While talking to Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut, who is also the executive editor of Shiv Sena mouthpiece ‘Saamana’, Thackeray highlighted that Sena doesn’t agree with BJP’s narrative of “Congress Mukt Bharat” because the opposition is also necessary.

Bal Thackeray always said that the opposition holds more responsibility than the Chief Minister. It is the responsibility of the opposition to make sure that people get justice,” Uddhav Thackeray said while remembering the late Shiv Sena founder.
