On the polling day in Maharashtra for the assembly elections, Congress on Monday approached the election officials and complaint about the slow working of the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) at polling stations across the state.
The issue of slow functioning of EVMs was brought under notice by Congress war room in-charge Avinash Pande who was also appointed as an election in-charge for Mumbai Region.
Regarding the issue, Pande took this issue to the concerned officials including returning officers, district election officers and chief electoral officer (CEO) Baldev Singh.
Pande informed that there was a delay in confirmation of vote given the non-functional polling stations across the state. EVMs were not working for a long duration is nearly 321 booth, the Congress leader added.
Furthermore, Congress complaint that the worst delays regarding the EVMs were reported from Nanded which is the home district of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan.

Pande also informed that voters were discouraged from going to polling stations in Worli amid the non-functioning of EVMs. However, the district administration and law enforcement agencies were helpful in resolving the issues.
