Maharashtra State Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's son and Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray has tested positive for coronavirus. He shared the information about the same on social media and has everyone who has come in contact to get tested.

He said, "On having mild symptoms of COVID, I had myself tested and I am COVID positive. I request everyone who came in contact with me to get themselves tested. I urge everyone to realise that it is extremely important to not let your guard down."

Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the state are increasing significantly, and strict rules have been imposed across several districts. Mumbai has once again become a hotspot and observing the same, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has taken steps to curb the spread of the virus. On March 19, 2021, CM had stated that if people do not follow the rules as directed by the government, the state will have to face another lockdown, as that is being considered as an option for the COVID-19 crisis.

Meanwhile, Aaditya Thackeray had recently met several ministers and officials from the government to review the bicycle track project and various other works which are being conducted in Mumbai.
