Sanjay Nirupam questions his house arrest

Amid the visit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah, Mumbai Congress President Sanjay Nirupam on Wednesday accused Shah of keeping him under house arrest, asking, “what are they afraid of?” Nirupam alleged that the police is tightly guarding the building since Wednesday morning.

Ahead of the elections next year, BJP President is on a tour - ‘Sampark for Samarthan Abhiyaan’ - campaigning to seek support across the country. Shah is scheduled to meet Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray at Matoshree.

Police were deployed outside Sanjay Nirupam’s residence in Lokhandwala. Talking to the media, Nirupam said that the police have been deployed here on the orders of their seniors. He further said that “I have not committed any crime and yet the police are deployed outside my residence.” Nirupam also alleged that police is preventing him to move out from his house.
