In Maharashtra Business Club organised a special program for industrialists and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray spoke to the Marathi entrepreneurs and suggested that “Firstly, you should understand the land of Maharashtra.”

“People from outside come here and start their business and our people pursue jobs,” said Thackeray speaking at the programme. He further added that “people from outside have different perspective about the state and they come here for business because of the facilities available here.”

Thackeray told that unfortunately, Marathi people don’t understand the importance of cities in the state. Marathi population is dwindling and the outsiders are increasing in many cities.

MNS chief asserted that it is important for Marathis to understand business and be sharp about it. If Marathi businessmen don’t pay attention, the hold on cities like Pune, Thane, and Mumbai will be lost. In cities like Pune and Mumbai, outsiders’ perspective differs from that from Marathi people. Thus, the outsiders have a hold on these cities.

Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Thackeray said that “the Prime Minister of this country only thinks about the development of his kingdom – Gujarat,” adding, “Why is there a bullet train project for Gujarat and nothing for other states?”

He said that there are 60 to 70 per cent Gujaratis in Mahabaleshwar. Addressing the Marathi entrepreneurs, he said, “demonstrate your impression in different places of Maharashtra state.”
