Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday addressed the nation informing about the success of “Mission Shakti” carried out by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

However, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray slammed the PM saying that the scientists should have been given the opportunity to share their achievement with the country.

Thackeray questioned the need for the PM to address the nation regarding this while congratulating the scientist for their achievement to destroy the Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite.

In an internal mission test, a low orbiting satellite was destroyed. For this, we wholeheartedly congratulate scientists and are immensely proud of them. However, why did Narendra Modi address the nation regarding this?” asked Thackeray in a tweet.

The MNS chief further said that the scientists who have put their efforts should be given a chance to share their achievement with the nation. They deserve their moment of glory, Thackeray added.

PM Modi took to Twitter to inform that he was going to address the nation between 11:45 AM to 12:00 PM and his address were broadcast on television, radio, or social media. However, PM Modi started his speech with a delay of half an hour.
