Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday informed the nation that India has attained an unprecedented success in space technology. India space agencies conducted a successful test and shot down a live satellite in Low Earth Orbit (LEO). 

As this happened, PM Modi announced that India has emerged as a superpower and now ranks fourth in the number for space superpowers. The LEO satellite was shot down in 3-minutes under “Mission Shakti.”

While addressing the media, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that after the United States of America (USA), China, and Russia – India has made a name for itself in the anti-satellite missile area.

PM Modi informed that “Mission Shakti” was extremely difficult to carry out as it needed a very high-quality technical capacity and it is a rare achievement. Under this mission, the Indian scientists were able to completely kill the LEO satellite which was 300 kilometres away.
