After Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray's strong objection against the proposed Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project, the MNS workers on Wednesday vandalised the bullet train survey initiated at Palghar.

Earlier on Monday, MNS workers stopped the ongoing survey for the bullet train project at Diva-Sheel in Thane. MNS’ Thane-Palghar District President Avinash Jadhav asserted that this project is against the farmers and Maharashtra doesn’t need a bullet train.

MNS has reiterated that “Where the efforts will be started by the concerned agencies, the MNS activists will stop the survey”.

Raj Thackeray has strongly opposed the bullet train project proposed by the central government and has demanded this project to be cancelled as the state doesn’t need a bullet train. Earlier in Palghar’s meeting, Thackeray appealed to the farmers and locals to not give their land for the bullet train project.

Despite the opposition of the farmers and people the work of the survey was carried out in Thane-Palghar belt which falls under the route of the bullet train. However, the aggressive MNS workers stopped the working of the officials conducting surveys.
