The controversy surrounding Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and MP Sanjay Dina Patil's alleged abusive remarks against journalists has intensified, with Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Sandeep Deshpande strongly criticising Patil's public apology.

A day after Patil released a video apologising for his remarks, Deshpande questioned the sincerity of the apology, saying it appeared more like a display of arrogance than genuine remorse.

"I watched Sanjay Dina Patil's apology yesterday. Let the public decide whether it was really an apology or a favour he was doing to journalists. Is this the way to apologise? In my opinion, it was the most arrogant apology. At no point in his statement did he appear to express regret or remorse," Deshpande said.

Patil had issued the apology following widespread criticism over his alleged use of abusive language towards journalists. In the video, he expressed regret over the incident and appealed to media persons to forgive him if they had been hurt by his remarks.
