After the State Election Commission (SEC) announced the poll dates for Maharashtra assembly elections 2019, the speculations regarding Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) contesting the assembly elections have increased.

Earlier, the sources informed that MNS is likely to contest on 100 assembly seats in the upcoming elections in Maharashtra which are scheduled on October 21.

After the Enforcement Directorate investigated Raj Thackeray in connection with a money laundering case, the MNS leader has gone silent.

However, MNS spokesperson Sandeep Deshpande said that the party will be contesting close to 100 seats but the figure is not rigid. Moreover, MNS is not in touch with either Congress or the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) for the alliance.
