Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday declared its first list of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections in Maharashtra which are scheduled on October 21.
In its first list, AAP has listed eight candidates across Maharashtra and three names who will be contesting the assembly polls from three assembly seats in Mumbai.
AAP has fielded Vitthal Govind Lad from Jogeshwari East Assembly constituency followed by Siraj Khan from Chandivali constituency and Dilip Tawde from Dindoshi constituency in Mumbai region.
While addressing the press conference in Mumbai, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Preeti Menon said that the party will contest on 50 or more seats in the upcoming assembly polls in Maharashtra.
When asked about the possibility of alliance with Prakash Ambedkar-led Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA), Menon told that talks regarding the same with VBA is underway.
We appreciate VBA’s effort for raising hopes that different alternative to the current opposition in Maharashtra can be a reality,” said AAP leader Preeti Menon.
Earlier, AAP had informed that they are in touch with other opposition parties, mostly VBA, to form an alliance ahead of the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections.

Moreover, amid the mass exodus of senior leaders from the opposition parties including Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), AAP had stated that senior political figures were supposed to join the party.
